Louis F. Crane, C.F.A.
Louis heads the investment policy committee and is directly involved with the management of all institutional accounts at the firm. He has nearly 30 years experience in investment management as well as broad experience in the international business arena. Prior to forming Orleans Capital in 1991, Louis was the senior fixed income manager at a major regional bank and responsible for the development of investment strategy and process. He previously served as Chief Investment Officer for two insurance companies. He began his investment career with Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York. Louis has served on the Board of Directors of nine public and private corporations. He has been President and Chief Executive Officer of two publicly held corporations traded on the New York Stock Exchange. He also serves on a special advisory committee for Loyola University School of Business. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Louis attended the University of Houston and received a Master's of Business Administration from Mississippi College.
Rodney J. Abele, C.F.A.
Rod is a senior fixed income portfolio manager with primary responsibility for public and corporate pension funds as well as religious foundations and endowments. Formerly, Rod was an executive vice president of a major regional bank and manager of the Trust and Capital Markets Division. He began his career as a fixed income portfolio manager. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Rod received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's of Business Administration from Tulane University. He is a past president of a religious foundation and currently serves on its Board of Directors. Rod has 29 years experience in investment management.
John H. Gordon, III
John is responsible for business development and client retention in all of the firm's markets. He has served as an advisor to the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS) executive board since 2001 and serves as a member of the investment committee. John was a fixed income portfolio manager with the firm and sat on the investment committee until 2006. Formerly, John was an investment analyst specializing in closely-held corporations, a trust investment officer and securities trader at a major regional bank. He has served as treasurer for a parish school board and a non-profit corporation. He has been an advisor to the board of directors of several privately-held corporations. John holds a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and has 21 years experience in investment management and marketing.
L. Farrell Crane, Jr.
Farrell is Director of Research and Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing all risk analysis and regulatory reporting at Orleans Capital. He has 6 years of investment management experience managing both fixed income and equity allocations. Before joining Orleans Capital he developed 9 years experience as a corporate lawyer, managing financial restructurings of both publicly and privately held institutions as well as an extensive background in the review and analysis of securities. He was formerly a partner with Kirkendall & Isgur, L.L.P. and of Counsel with Butler & Binion, L.L.P. and Fulbright & Jaworski, L.L.P. in Houston, Texas. Farrell holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Austin College and a J.D. from the University of Texas.
Emily C. Becker
Emily is a fixed income portfolio manager with responsibility for a number of institutional accounts including pension funds, religious foundations and endowments. Prior to joining Orleans Capital, Emily was an institutional investment officer at a Louisiana bank where she provided investment portfolio strategy and execution services. Emily began her career with the Trust Department at a major regional bank in Houston with principal responsibility in investment administration. Emily holds a Bachelor's degree in economics from Baylor University and has 14 years experience in the investment management field.
Gary L. Welchel
Gary is responsible for business development and client retention in all the firm's markets with primary focus on Louisiana. Gary brings to Orleans Capital over 30 years of experience in fixed income sales and trading. Formerly, he was the national sales manager at Spear Leeds and Kellogg (a Goldman Sachs company) and a regional sales manager for a primary dealer in fixed income securities. Gary began his career working for a regional bank in South Carolina. Gary obtained his Bachelor's degree from Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina and is involved in numerous wildlife organizations.
Phyllis M. Kyle
Phyllis is the primary securities trader. Prior to joining Orleans Capital, Phyllis was a vice president with a regional bank, responsible for fixed income securities trading and portfolio strategy implementation. Prior to that, she was a vice president and securities trader with another bank. She has been providing trading for institutional and individual accounts for the past 16 years. Phyllis holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Louisiana State University and has successfully completed the CFA Level I examination. Cappy M. Johnson
Cappy primarily provides fixed income research and analytical support to the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Orleans Capital, Cappy was a financial advisor in New York with a major Wall Street brokerage firm. She holds both a Bachelor's degree and M.B.A. in Finance from Tulane University. She has 8 years experience in the investment business. Cappy has successfully completed the CFA Level II examination.
Joseph T. Casper, IV
J.T. assists portfolio managers with trading and portfolio accounting. He has a degree in business management from Louisiana Tech University and previously worked in employee benefit administration at a life insurance company. He has 10 years experience in the investment management business.
Amy A. LeBoeuf
Formerly, Amy was an associate administrator in trust investments a major regional bank. She assisted in all areas of investment management and marketing support. Prior to this, she was with the trust department of another bank. Amy attended Nicholls State University and has 22 years experience in the trust and investment management field.
